Welcome to the Rocket Hockey Academy Summer Camp 2023! Our camp kicked off on August 14th with a day full of learning, fun, and hockey excitement. With over 40 participants aged between 10 and 16. The first day set the stage for an amazing summer camp experience. Let's dive into the highlights of the day and what our young athletes got up to!
Highlights:
Practical Basic Techniques, Skills, and Tactics: The first day of the camp focused on building a strong foundation in hockey. Participants engaged in hands-on sessions where they learned and practiced essential techniques, skills, and tactics of the game. From dribbling and passing to positioning and teamwork, our budding hockey stars were eager to soak up knowledge.
Video Session: In the afternoon, our participants had the privilege of attending a captivating video session. This session delved into the world of professional hockey matches, showcasing moments from top players and matches around the globe. The video session not only entertained our young athletes but all together provided valuable insights into the intricacies of the game.
HTML Fundamentals at Government College Ibadan ICT Center: A unique twist to the day's schedule was a visit to the Government College Ibadan ICT Center. Here, our participants received a crash course in HTML fundamentals. Instructors guided them through the basics of web development. They were given a taste of the digital world beyond the hockey field. Additionally, this interdisciplinary exposure broadened their horizons and added a tech-savvy edge to their overall learning experience.
Mathematics and English Language Lessons: To ensure a well-rounded educational experience, the day concluded with Mathematics and English language lessons in a classroom setting. In the same fashion, hockey is our main focus, we also believe in nurturing all aspects of our participants' growth. The engaging lessons not only challenged their academic skills but also provided a refreshing change of pace from the physical activities earlier in the day.
