One of his most distinguished roles was that of Vice-captain of the National hockey team, where he not only showcased his prowess on the field but also demonstrated remarkable leadership qualities. He proudly represented Nigeria in various countries, including South Africa (twice), Zimbabwe (four times), Kenya (three times), Ghana (five times), Egypt (twice), and even farther afield in Casablanca, Hyderabad, and Stuttgart. Holding both a BSc and MSc, he is on the cusp of yet another milestone – awaiting the external defense for his Ph.D. Lamido’s intellectual pursuits run parallel to his sportsmanship, portraying a multifaceted personality committed to holistic growth. Lamido’s impact stretches beyond the field and the classroom. With an illustrious history in Bauchi State Polytechnic, he has held esteemed positions, including Acting Rector, Dean, and Deputy Rector. Presently, he serves as a Chief Lecturer and holds the position of Director of Preliminaries Studies at the same institution. His dedication to academia and institution-building is evident in each role he undertakes.

Outside of his professional pursuits, Lamido cherishes his role as a family man. He is a devoted husband to two wives and a loving father to his beautiful children. His ability to balance his commitments both on and off the field underscores his exceptional character and values.
